Astounded
There was sudden interest from the women librarians in the room. Their faces looked up in curiosity.
"Another play?" said Louise, astounded. "You’ve discovered another play by Shakespeare?"

Bustling
The bus stopped somewhere in the city centre, and Isabel and Philip got off. They were in a shopping street, but the shops also appeared to be very old buildings. The street was bustling with shoppers and tourists.

Cosy
As they got closer to Oxford, they drove through some attractive little villages. Colourful garden flowers hung in baskets outside cosy-looking houses with thatched roofs.

Dull
Then Philip added "Do you know? In English, we say: all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy." He looked round at Isabel to see the reaction on her face. This time she did not seem to appreciate his contribution of English expressions.

Fury/Rage
Jane looked down at the table, an expression of fury on her face and said nothing.

The three of them left the room. Just before they went out of the door, Isabel turned around. Jane was still staring hard at the table – the look of rage fixed upon her face.

Peer
Isabel could not see the full size of the room as the far end was in complete darkness. At the tables, three women were peering into computer screens.
