There are many phrasal verbs associated with the actions of tools. If you screw or bolt something down, it means it is fixed so it cannot move. If you hammer something out, it means to make a dent in metal smooth again - like a dent made in the metal car-body after an accident. When you saw something up, you cut it into lots of pieces. When somebody suddenly stops talking, we can say his mouth clamped shut meaning he went very quiet. However, a screwdriver isn't a verb but, as well as a tool, it is a very famous cocktail!
