Explanation of comparatives...

Make comparative sentences as in the example.

Example:
Dave is quite tall. Steve is very tall

Steve is taller    than Dave.

1) Jane is quite short. Mary is very short.

Mary is than Jane.

2) The blue car is quite expensive. The red car is very expensive.

The red car is than the blue car.

3) My sister is quite lazy. My brother is very lazy.

My brother is than my sister.

4) My father is quite intelligent. My mother is very intelligent.

My mother is than my father.

5) My dog Spot is quite friendly. My dog Fido is very friendly.

My dog Fido is than Spot.

6) That iPod is quite cheap. This iPod is very cheap.

This iPod is than that iPod.

7) London is quite far. Glasgow is very far.

Glasgow is than London.

8) The white butterfly is quite common. The blue butterfly is very common.

The blue butterfly is than the white butterfly.

9) My cat Tiddles is quite fat. My cat Blackie is very fat.

My cat Blackie is than Tiddles.

10) The weather in England is quite bad. The weather in Scotland is very bad.

The weather in Scotland is than the weather in England.
